Many people spend hours hard at work at a desk. Brigette Williams with Living Balanced says standing for even three minutes every hour has health benefits.

She suggested a few exercises to get your blood flowing to increase brain function and heart health:

  • Box squats or chair squats
  • Standing side reach
  • Standing open books
  • Hamstring sweeps
  • Forearm stretch
  • Neck stretches

Williams recommends 10 reps of each exercise, just enough to get your heart pumping.
