Sabrina Ullman: Patchy fog and scattered showers tonight

Evening forecast November 5

Sunday's rain will continue into early Monday morning.

Tonight will be cloudy with overnight lows in the 30s to low 40s. Patchy fog is likely late tonight into Monday morning.

Scattered showers are likely tonight, lasting into the morning. Most of the area will have a tenth of an inch of accumulation. The Arrowhead, the Twin Ports, and areas along the South Shore can expect an additional 0.3-0.5″. Portions of the North Shore from Two Harbors to Grand Marais could have localized higher amounts.

Areas southwest of Duluth will be done with this round of rain by around 5 am Monday. The system will exit by the afternoon. We could see a few flurries and sprinkles in northern Minnesota in the late afternoon to early evening hours from a front further north.

Temperatures on Monday will peak at around 10 am, only reaching the upper 30s along the international border and the 40s elsewhere. A cold front will move through midday, with temperatures dropping a few degrees before holding steady.

A lake-effect rain/snow mix is possible along the South Shore Monday night into early Tuesday. Other than that, conditions will be quiet until late Tuesday.

Rain and snow are likely Tuesday night into Wednesday. Right now, it is looking like the rain/snow line will stretch from Grand Rapids to Duluth to the U.P. Precipitation type and amount remains uncertain at this time as a slight shift in the temperature profile will move it one way or the other.
