Record recap for unseasonable warmth January into February

A total of 12 days set or tied a record for at least one of the Northland's climate sites at the end of January through the start of February

A prolonged stretch of unseasonable warmth brought a slew of daily temperature records to the Northland at the end of January and start of February. Beginning on January 24th and end on February 8th, a total of twelve days included a record being tied or set by at least one of the local climate sites.

Of those twelve, ten days included record warm lows. Six were daily record highs with one of those being a monthly record high for January in International Falls. One day had daily precipitation records.

The Duluth National Weather Service keeps track of both temperature and precipitation records for Duluth, International Falls, and Hibbing, and temperature records for Ashland and Brainerd.
