Brandon Weatherz: Quiet end to the week

November 2: Quiet end to the week

Daily forecast from the Storm Track Weather Team

A quiet stretch of weather will see us through the rest of the workweek. Increasing clouds from the west overnight are responsible for morning temps mostly in the 20s for the Twin Ports and much of northern Minnesota. Temps fall into the teens looking east near Hayward and Phillips where skies remained clearer overnight. We continue a slight warming trend today with mid-30s near and north of the Iron Range, upper 30s in the Twin Ports, and low 40s for much of Northwest Wisconsin. Skies will feature a mix of clouds and sun.

Tonight will have mostly cloudy skies that help keep lows in mid-20s to low 30s. Friday is then partly cloudy with highs in mid-30s to mid-40s looking from north to south across the Northland. Temps will fall back into teens and low 20s Friday night, allowing for a chilly deer stand Saturday morning. The start of the Minnesota firearm deer season will then feature similar temps to Friday and partly sunny skies. We look near and north of the Iron Range where light rain and snow showers are possible in the afternoon and evening.

Saturday night will be milder with lows in mid-20s to low 30s. As Daylight Saving Time ends, clocks will need to be adjusted an hour earlier. The sun then rises and sets an hour earlier Sunday, rising just before 7 am and setting before 5 pm. Sunday will be cloud with highs in mid-30s to mid-40s. Scattered rain showers arrive in the afternoon and continue overnight into Monday. Precipitation type will depend on temperatures, but for now it seems rain will be dominant for the Twin Ports. Northern communities may see snow in the mix Sunday into Monday.
