Justin Liles: Temperatures begin to climb Wednesday

December 5th: Warmer weather coming

Warmer weather coming

Our weather just doesn’t have much going on. High pressure will take over and drier air will settle over the region. There is a small chance at seeing some flurries early Wednesday morning, but then the temperatures begin to climb as a couple of clipper systems stay to our north and we see strong southerly flow.

Any snow your community just received will likely melt as we climb into the 40s over the next three days. Some parts of northern Wisconsin and east central Minnesota could get close to 50° on Thursday. Temperatures will remain high on Friday and records highs are possible. This weekend temperatures look to begin cooling down.

On Sunday, a large winter system misses us to the east and will impact the eastern Great Lakes. It will act to cool us back down to near-normal. Otherwise, just minor systems that may bring brief light wintry precipitation.
