Hibbing man indicted for drug trafficking and firearms violation

Phillip Lamount Davis, 53, of Hibbing has been indicted for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, and illegal possession of firearms.

Davis has been charged with one count of distribution of methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon, and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

According to a release from the Department of Justice, Davis has multiple prior felony convictions in Illinois and he is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition at any time.

Davis’ detention hearing has been scheduled for January 16.
