UWS men’s basketball can’t hang on, loses first game of the season

The UWS men's basketball team couldn't find their way on Saturday, losing their first game of the 2023-24 season.

Despite leading by five points at halftime, the UWS men’s basketball team couldn’t hold on to their lead on Saturday, losing their first game of the season 58-53 to UW-Stevens Point.

The Achilles heel of the Yellowjackets was a 17 point second half, as the Pointers would pour on 27 points in the same time frame.

Josef Mahrenholz was excellent all game for the Yellowjackets, scoring 17 points, and J’Vaun Walker added 10 of his own.

The Yellowjackets will look to bounce back on Tuesday against Buena Vista.
