Despite suffering a series sweep last weekend to 20th ranked Omaha, one UMD men’s hockey player stood out above the rest, and now he’s taking home a weekly honor.
UMD’s Matthew Perkins was named the NCHC Rookie of the Week after a two goal, one assist weekend.
Perkins’ two goals accounted for half of the Bulldogs goals scored on the weekend. Perkins also had a crucial assist to Connor McMenamin in his game tying goal on Saturday.
Perkins and the Bulldogs have the week off to regroup before a home series against Denver, starting February 16th.
