UMD’s Hailey MacLeod named WCHA Rookie of the Month, alum Hunter Shepard earns AHL honors

Not only did Hailey MacLeod have a great November at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), she had the best November out of any freshman in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

On Tuesday the netminder was awarded WCHA Freshman of the Month honors.

MacLeod earned her first two collegiate wins in her first two collegiate starts, notching both a shutout and an assist in a 9-0 win over Harvard Saturday, Nov. 19. Appearing in three games throughout the month she posted 0.41 Goals Against Average and a .980 saves percentage.

Additionally UMD men’s hockey alum Hunter Shepard was been named the AHL’s Goalie of the Month. The Hershey Bear posted a perfect 6-0 record with a .936 saves percentage in November.
