UMD women’s hockey ranked 8th to open 2023, Bell earns WCHA honors

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team skates into 2023 one of the nation’s top teams. In the latest USCHO poll the Bulldogs came in at number eight boasting a 13-6-1 record.

Leading all defenders in points per-game Ashton Bell snagged Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Defender of the Month honors for December. Bell, a fifth year, put in two goals and three assists to earn her second monthly award this season.

Off since December 10 the Bulldogs are back in action this Saturday and Sunday visiting number two Wisconsin.
