No. 9 UMD men’s hoops halted by No. 2 MSU-Mankato in NSIC championship game

On Tuesday, the No. 9 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s basketball team fall 97-77 to No. 2 Minnesota State University-Mankato in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship game at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Bulldogs’ Drew Blair led the game in scoring 27 points, while Charlie Katona added 12 points. The Mavericks were led by Malik Willingham with 21 points and Justin Eagins with 20 points.

UMD trailed just 47-41 at halftime, however was outshot 50-36 in the second half.

Blair and Katona would be named to the All-NSIC Tournament Team. The Bulldogs finish with a 25-6 overall record.
