No. 11 UMD men’s hockey suffers a series opening loss at No. 12 Cornell

The 11th ranked University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team suffered a 4-1 series opening loss at 12th ranked Cornell University on Friday.

Ben Steeves scored the Bulldogs lone goal in the second period to trail 3-1. Cornell would score one more in the third to secure the 4-1 win.

Zach Stejskal made 25 saves in net for UMD.

The Bulldogs (3-1-2) will look to rebound from their first loss in their series finale Saturday at 6 p.m. in Ithaca, New York.
