He won the Mr. Hockey honor in 2021, and now Grand Rapids native Jack Peart is seeing his pro dreams come true, signing with the Minnesota Wild. On Tuesday the 20-year-old signed a three year, entry level contract with his hometown club.

The defenseman just completed his junior season at St. Cloud State University. In three years as a Husky he scored eight goals and recorded 47 assists in 109 games.

Outside of college, Peart skated for the U.S. National Junior team at the 2022 and 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championships, winning bronze in 2023.

Back to 2021, in addition to being named Mr. Hockey, the Thunderhawk captain also won the Reed Larson award given to the state’s top senior boys defenseman.

The Wild selected Peart in the second round (54th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
