Grand Rapids girl’s swim takes first place at the Lake Superior Conference championship

Superior hosted the Lake Superior conference championship for the girls’ swim meet on Thursday.

In the girl’s 200-yard relay race, Grand Rapid’s Treasure Jager helped her team secure the win. In the 200-yard freestyle, Hibbing’s Geli Stenson won, as she defended her two-time regional championship. Superior’s own Kylie Peterson won in the 50-yard freestyle.

Grand Rapids won overall with 511 points. In second place was Hibbing with 390 points and Proctor/Hermantown with 330, rounding out the top three spots. Cloquet Esko-Carlton picked up 314 points. Superior got 235 points, and Denfeld scored 177 points.
