Gophers snap UMD women’s hockey unbeaten streak

The No.6 UMD women’s hockey team (UMD) had their unbeaten streak of nine game come to an end Friday against the No.3 Minnesota Gophers.

The game was scoreless in the first period before Catie Skaja opened the scoring for the Gophers in the second.

UMD responded tying the game less than a minute into the third period with a tally from Taylor Stewart.

The Gophers would then get the go ahead goal and empty netter, winning the game 3-1.

The rematch is set for a tomorrow, puck drop at 3:00 p.m.
