On Saturday, both the #21 UMD men’s basketball team and the #22 women’s basketball team protected home court against Winona State, as the men won 73-62 while the women defeated the Warriors, 65-37.

On the men’s side, Drew Blair was his incredible self, as the NSIC preseason player of the year accounted for 26 points. The Bulldogs had four total players with double digit points.

On the women’s side, the three ball was the topic of conversation, as the Bulldogs not only shot 43% from behind the arc for the entire game, but they came out shooting 83% in the first quarter.

Ella Gilberto led the way for UMD, scoring 16 points, while Abby Johnson added 10 of her own.

The UMD men’s basketball team hits the road against Mankato on Tuesday while the women don’t play again until January 5th.
