Small business spotlight: Up North Clay
Up North Clay is a local earring business with designs from Jaime Crain.
She handmakes the earrings with polymer clay.
“So it’s not clay from the earth. It comes in a little bar, and it’s kind of like adult Play-Doh,” she said. “So you don’t need a kiln. You need an oven to cure it.”
Like a lot of small businesses, she started making earrings during the pandemic to stay busy. She offers themed collections, holiday-specific accessories, and more.
She sells online and pops up at markets around the Twin Ports.
