Fairlawn Mansion offers an ‘Old Fashioned’ Christmas tour

Fairlawn mansion offering holiday tours

The Glensheen mansion isn't the only historic home offering tours this holiday season. The Fairlawn mansion is also offering people to come check out their space.

The Fairlawn Mansion is offering Old Fashioned Christmas tours throughout holidays.

The traditional Queen Victorian style home was built between 1888 and 1892. The Patterson family lived there until 1918, and afterwards it became a home for children.

Both histories are reflected in the decor. Executive Director of the Fairlawn Mansion Megan Meyer explained to The Lift, “The Patterson family celebrated a traditional Christmas here. They would’ve decorated the home. They exchanged gifts and what not.”

“Mark Patterson would actually ride around on his sleigh and threw out candy and coins to the residents in the area.”

There are 42 rooms in the Fairlawn Mansion and the self-guided tours allow you to explore at your leisure. Plus, cider and treats will be available.

On Saturday Dec. 16 and 30, ‘Dogs Love Everyone Mushing’ will make an appearance.

Tickets for tours are available online.
