The long time leader of the Minnesota State Fair is retiring. CEO Jerry Hammer announced Monday he will give up the keys to the fairgrounds next spring, after 26 years at the helm.

Hammer put out a statement saying he’s “extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve this amazing place for so long, what a great gift it is when your life’s work is bringing people together to celebrate the very best of each other. This way more than an agricultural fair. It’s a uniquely Minnesota-style celebration of our humanity.” The fair’s board of managers is now looking for hammer’s successor.

State Fair is holding a flash sale on tickets for 2023, tickets will be sold for just $12. This is today only (November 22nd) and also only while supplies last.
