Two people arrested in drug investigation in Pine County

Two people are being held in the Pine County Jail awaiting charges of 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance. According to the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office, the Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crimes Enforcement Team (AIM VCET) executed search warrants on April 9th in Pine and St. Louis Counties.

Based on the report from AIM VCET, agents had been conducting a controlled substance investigation involving a 37-year-old Culver, Minnesota woman for the past several months. The report says the woman was stopped in Pine County and officers searched the vehicle she was driving they found 4.2 pounds of methamphetamine and 1 pound of marijuana.

Law enforcement also arrested a 42-year-old man from Meadowlands. The two are at the Pine County Jail awaiting charges. WDIO does not usually name suspects until they have been formally charged.

According to the report from the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office, additional search warrants were executed at the woman’s home, where a handgun and ammunition were located.

The Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force and the Pine County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the case.
