St. Louis County warning of scam calls

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of scam calls in the area.

The agency says they have taken numerous reports, where the caller claims to be a member of law enforcement and says the person missed a court date and demands a monetary payment over the phone. St. Louis County reinforces that these calls are not legitimate.

The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind people that law enforcement does not call community members to ask for payment over the phone. If anyone receives one of these calls, do not provide any payment. If you have received one of these calls and want to file a police report, you’re asked to dial 911.

Any questions regarding payments of fines should be directed to court administration.
