Portions of Third Street in Duluth to be closed Monday for reconditioning project

Portions of Third Street in Downtown Duluth will be closed Monday, April 22 due to a reconditioning project.

The right lane of Third Street will be closed from 12th Avenue E. to Mesaba Avenue to allow for work on the upper side of the road. Intersections with the avenues may be closed as well to help complete the work.

This means that there will also be no parking allowed on the right lane side of the road, but crews will allow for parking Sunday on the left lane side.

The project on the Upper side of Third Street is anticipated to be completed in early July; traffic will then be switched and work will start on the lower side. Total construction is anticipated to be complete by then end of September 2024.
