Former Itasca County Sheriff Bob Serich died Monday

The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office sent a statement Tuesday regarding the passing of retired Sheriff Bob Serich. According to the release, Sheriff Bob Serich passed away on Monday, May 27 at home surrounded by his family. He was elected as sheriff in 1991 and served in that role until he retired in January of 1995.
According to the release, Sheriff Serich served Itasca County for 31 years. He was a Road Deputy appointed by Sheriff John Muhar, then as Chief Deputy under Sheriff Muhar and Sheriff Russell Johansson.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
