Duluth and Arrowhead Solar Co-op open now to help homeowners go solar

Solar United Neighbors works with Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light, Cook County Local Energy Project, and the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society on this latest Duluth and Arrowhead Solar Co-op.

Claudia French and Jim Allen are loving their solar panels. There are 38 of them in a ground array at their home up the shore.

They are grateful for the help from Solar United Neighbors and the solar co-op, which made this all possible. Because at first, all the options and information seemed overwhelming.

Jim shared, “The co-op seemed to have done a lot of this research, had a selection of just a few packages with some alternatives that were really well thought out and well-researched. And they they essentially could become our advocate. They had the time to explain the decision and explain why you might want this option.”

They wanted a more seamless look with their wooded property. So SUN leaders suggested a black on black look for the panels.

And they want to do their part, for the environment. “It just feels really good and I feel like they work well. It’s it’s neat to go out there and hear hear them hum in a way,” Claudia said.

Now they enjoy sharing their story with others who are interested in solar.
