City of Duluth holding first-ever snowplow naming contest
The City of Duluth has announced it’s first-ever snowplow naming contest which will be open until Monday, October 21, 2024. The renamed snowplow will make its debut at the Christmas City of the North Parade on November 22.
“In the name of fun, any Duluth resident may submit their most creative name for one of the City’s snowplow truck fleet via a form on the City for a chance to win a prize package that will make the winner the absolute envy of their neighborhood,” explained Public Information Officer Kelli Latuska. “The resident with the winning name submission will get the opportunity to take a photo with the plow and the crew, to ride in the snowplow during the parade, and will receive unlimited bragging rights.”
Finalists will announced on the city’s website and social platforms on October 28 and then the public can vote on their favorite name. The name that receives the most votes will win.
The winner will be notified on November 11.

This contest is separate and unrelated to the yearly statewide snowplow naming contest.
