Barno wins his 6th Grandma’s title

Elisha Barno wins his sixth Grandma's Marathon with an unofficial time of 2:10:55. He is the winningest runner in Grandma's Marathon history.
Elisha Barno wins his sixth Grandma’s Marathon with an unofficial time of 2:10:55. In 2023, he became this event’s all-time winningest runner, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. His win in 2023 gave him his personal best with a time of 2:09:14.
The 39 year old Kenyan native’s first win was in 2015. He came back to Duluth and won the next three years, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Barno holds two of the top six men’s times in the history of Grandma’s Marathon, and he has the most wins of any runner. Lorrain Moller is the closest with three.
The event record was set in 2014 by Dominic Ondoro. Ondoro had a time of 2:09:06 breaking the longstanding mark of Dick Beardsley from 1981.

There are fun short distance races at the Whipper Snapper race to inspire the next generation of runners!
