Benefit for family who lost home and dogs in fire

A benefit is planned on Sunday for the Johnson family- who lost their Duluth home and two dogs in a fire on Wednesday, March 13. Mom Rainy and two kids had to be rescued and were treated for smoke inhalation in the Twin Cities.

The spaghetti dinner will help the family pay for medical bills and other expenses they’ve incurred building back. The family-event will also include face painting, games and prizes, and a live performance from the band, Aftershock.

Community members rallied together to find items for the silent auction:

  • Dinner for 4 and station tour with fire crew
  • Lunch and station tour with the chief of police
  • Personal plane ride with Duluth Mayor Reinert
  • Three hour private boat/ fishing tour up to 6 guests by North Pier Charters

The Johnson Family Benefit Dinner on Sunday, April 21 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Buffalo House in Duluth.

Tickets are $10 and available online.
