Allowing a program record low six shots on net the UMD women’s hockey team earned a 2-1 win over St. Thomas at AMSOIL Arena Friday night.

All three goals were scored during the second period, with Gabby Krause and Anneke Linser scoring for UMD. Bulldog goalie Jojo Chobak made five saves on the night.

"It’s huge and it’s something we talked about, not giving up much defensively and being aggressive on pucks and open ice," head coach Maura Crowell said in a post game press conference. "It’s a credit to the whole team because offensively I thought our forecheck was really good, really smart, relentless and that’s the way we want to play."

No. 4 UMD improves to 19-9 and will search for the series sweep on Saturday. Puck drop against St. Thomas is set for 3:01pm in Duluth.
