Huskies clinch postseason berth despite loss to Bismarck

On Friday, the Duluth Huskies secured a playoff spot despite falling to the Bismarck Larks 8-7 at Wade Stadium.

A 17-2 loss by the Eau Claire Express to the Willmar Stingers sealed the deal for Duluth.

The Huskies were trailing 8-0 heading into the seventh inning, then scored seven runs in the final three innings to make a close comeback.

Dom Meza led Duluth offensively with three RBI, three hits and two runs. Bryan Broecker added two RBI, one hits and one run.

The Huskies (17-16) will close out their regular season against the Larks on Saturday. First pitch is set for 3:05pm at Wade Stadium.

Then they will open up the postseason against the Waterloo Bucks on Sunday with a best-of-three Great Plains East battle in the Northwoods League playoffs.
