Centennial Park’s Muskeg Express Re-Opens Saturday
The Centennial Park’s Muskeg Express mini-train returns to Thunder Bay. After a period of downtime due to necessary repairs, the Muskeg Express is set to re-open on Saturday, Aug. 7. The scenic Muskeg Express winds its way through the forest, adjoining the Current River, and is a favourite with all ages.
“We’re excited to have the Muskeg Express up and running again,” Werner Schwar, Thunder Bay’s Supervisor of Parks and Open Space Planning said in a press release. “It’s a memorable part of coming to Centennial Park for many families. Summer in Thunder Bay means a ride on the Muskeg Express.”
Rates per ride (including HST,) 5 years and under are free. Ages 6 – 12 years is $1, and adults, 13 years and older are $2.50.
The Muskeg Express will run Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am – 4 pm (last ride 3:50 pm) weather permitting, until September 5.
COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place, which may limit ride occupancy.
