We kick off the workweek with warmth, sunshine, and a breezy west wind. The combination of low humidity and winds gusting near 20 mph bring near-critical fire weather, allowing any fires that develop to grow and spread rapidly. Fire danger is high to very high across the Northland. Dry weather takes us into Wednesday. Widespread rain chances return Wednesday night and Thursday.

Coming off of a weekend with consistently cool conditions near Lake Superior, the west wind will allow for much warmer conditions for shoreline communities today. Even Canal Park and Superior will be included in widespread highs ranging from mid-70s to low 80s across the Northland. This is brief with an east wind returning tomorrow. High temps in the Twin Ports will be set in the morning Tuesday in the 60s, then temps fall back near 50 in the afternoon as a breezy east wind returns. Meanwhile, low 70s to low 80s continue inland.
