Dry weather will persist for Friday with highs in the 70s. Winds will be southeasterly at 6 to 12 mph from the southeast across northeastern Minnesota and more easterly across northwest Wisconsin. This means drier conditions are likely through the Grandma’s Marathon activities. The William A. Irvin looks to see winds off the lake. Temperatures will likely be in the 52° to 58° early Saturday morning. Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase Saturday and Sunday, especially in northeast Minnesota.

Some locally moderate to heavy rains more than a quarter of an inch may be possible, but many areas may see little to no rainfall over the weekend. A warmer and drier weather trend is possible early next week. Temperatures will remain rather warm with sunshine heading into Father’s Day. Drier conditions and more heat return next week. The lake breeze should keep shoreline communities more comfortable.
