Justin Liles: Getting hot & humid

Our slow-moving weather pattern is going to continue nearly all week. We have been dominated by a blocking pattern all summer long. This week the blocking pattern does show some sign it may start to break down and some rain is possible by the end of the week. Until then, a large ridge of warm air along with humid southerly flow will take over.

This means air conditioners will be on as temperatures climb into the 80s and 90s inland. Winds off the lake will keep shoreline communities a touch cooler. Now by the end of the week and into the new weekend showers and storms are possible. Some storms could become stronger, but temperatures should cool down some by Sunday.
