An Air Quality Alert is now in effect across the state of Wisconsin until noon Thursday. Wildfire smoke will be heaviest to the east with air quality in northwest Wisconsin expected to be unhealthy for all. In Minnesota, the Alert currently goes until 9 am today, but may be extended with sensitive groups affected. Visibility is a contender for the morning commute, particularly in Northwest Wisconsin where a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 am. Use headlights and allow plenty of space between vehicles.

The weather system responsible for our wet weekend exits the region to the east today. A few additional showers are possible in northwest Wisconsin this morning into the afternoon. A breezy north wind lingers and cloud cover decreases from the northwest. Most areas warm back into mid-70s to low 80s. Temps fall looking east in Wisconsin with highs staying in the mid-60s from Butternut to Ironwood.

Tuesday will bring the chance for an isolated thunderstorm to northern Minnesota in the afternoon and evening. The next widespread chance for showers and thunderstorms sweeps the Northland from west to east starting Tuesday night and ending Wednesday night. Thursday brings a chance for more isolated thunderstorms. Overall, temperatures will be relatively seasonable in the week ahead.
