Brandon Weatherz: Pleasant today; rain returns tomorrow

Our Thursday begins cool with early morning temps mostly in the 40s and even in the 30s for some. It shapes up to be a gorgeous day with highs in upper 60s to mid-70s under a few afternoon clouds. High pressure keeps dry air in place, allowing for comfortable conditions for breaking a sweat outside. Tonight will be a touch milder with lows in mid-40s to mid-50s.

A breezy southwest wind kicks in Friday to boost temps and dew points a touch. Highs reach upper 70s to low 80s for most. Temps fall toward 70 looking north near International Falls. The Borderland will be the first to see shower and thunderstorm chances Friday morning. Rain chances move southeast across northern Minnesota through the day, reaching the Twin Ports around 7 pm.

Showers then continue to move into Northwest Wisconsin overnight. Northwest Wisconsin keeps the best chance of additional showers on Saturday. Sunday brings another round of shower and thunderstorm chances to northern Minnesota. A weather pattern will keep seasonable temperatures and slight rain chances through the middle of next week.
