Brandon Weatherz: Comfortable and quiet Tuesday

Our Tuesday starts off cool with most areas in the 40s. It shapes up to be a comfortable day with highs in low to mid-70s under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Cloud cover increases tonight and keeps lows in upper 40s to mid-50s. Temps are on the cool side once more tomorrow with upper 60s to mid-70s. An east wind will keep lakeside areas in the 60s. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a 30% chance for showers in the afternoon and evening. Temps trend warmer Thursday and Friday. Saturday remains rather seasonable with cooler conditions returning from the north by Sunday.
Our weather pattern will be dominated by a stubborn low spinning far to our north over the next several days. That low will send occasional waves of energy our way responsible for periods of showers and low rain chances each day through the end of the week and the weekend. None of these days will be washouts by any means. There still isn’t much of a rain gauge filling event on the horizon, and storms aren’t expected to be severe.
The first low chance for showers is tonight for east central Minnesota into northwest Wisconsin, staying mostly south of the Twin Ports. Scattered showers sweep the Northland from west to east Wednesday afternoon and evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms may pop up on Thursday, followed by another more scattered round of showers Thursday night.
