The Lincoln Park Community Garden now showcases those who have made a difference. Artist of the murals, Micheal Matthews, says the work honors a few of Duluth and Minnesota’s activists and advocates.

One of those names includes John Lyght who was Minnesota’s first African American sheriff, along with others who’s legacies remain.

“There’s more going on at the garden, more paintings going up. But this was the main project for this season. One of the sponsors was AARP Community Challenge, but otherwise it’s community focused,” said Matthews.

The Lincoln Park Community Garden is accepting donations so they can make further restorations. All art is displayed on the outside fence of the garden
