Another University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey player has signed an ECHL deal.

Defender Derek Daschke is heading to Ohio’s Toledo Walleye, the affiliate to the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings.

A graduate transfer from Miami University in Ohio, Daschke put up two goals and 14 assists in 37 games this season with the Bulldogs.

He joins now-former UMD captain Tanner Laderoute and Jesse Jacques as the third Bulldog this offseason to join the ECHL. Laderoute is off to West Virginia’s Wheeling Nailers, and Jacques signed with the Iowa Heartlanders.
