A staple of the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team for the past five seasons has just inked a professional deal.

Graduate student, forward, Jesse Jacques has signed on with the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL.

A Hermantown native he scored four goals adding five assists for nine points this season. His career high came in the 2021-2022 season when he tallied seven goals and 11 points.

His signing comes after UMD’s Wyatt Kaiser signed with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks last Tuesday, then made his NHL debut Saturday.
