The University of Minnesota Duluth football team has the chance to do something they haven’t since 2018, and that is start 5-0.

The last time the Bulldogs were 5-0, they went on to finish the regular season undefeated at 11-0. Not until the first round of the Division II playoffs did the Bulldogs lose.

To the present day, the Bulldogs are slated to face Winona State on Saturday, which is also their homecoming game. Head Coach Curt Wiese isn’t worried about the emotions of the day getting to his team.

“Our guys understand what they’re getting into this week,” said Wiese. “Homecoming for us as a team isn’t any bigger game than than any other one. But there’s obviously events on campus and we got a lot of good crowd here Saturday, so that will help us this weekend.”

Kickoff is set for noon at Malosky Stadium.
