PWHL Minnesota completes 2024 PWHL draft

The second ever PWHL draft was held in St. Paul, Minnesota on Monday night, and the reigning Walter Cup Champions have made their picks.

However, with the first pick of the draft, PWHL New York selected Sarah Fillier out of Princeton.

The third overall pick and PWHL Minnesota’s first was Claire Thompson, a defender out of Toronto, who wasn’t present at the draft because of medical school obligations.

In the 2nd round, Minnesota selected Britta Curl the former Wisconsin Badger who tallied 62 points this season, with 22 goals.

In the 3rd round, Klára Hymlárová from St. Cloud, a forward.

To the 4th round, Brooke McQuigge was selected from Clarkson University, as she had 33 points and 13 goals this past year.

In the 5th, Dominique Petrie was selected, who was McQuigge’s teammate at Clarkson, and yet another forward on the roster.

In the 6th round, Minnesota chose Mae Batherson from Saint Lawrence, who posted 37 points this past season.

Finally in the 7th round, Minnesota picked Katy Knoll, a 5th year out of Northeastern who tallied 28 points this past season.
