DIII Tennis: UWS women win first-ever UMAC North title, CSS men secure postseason berth

On Saturday, the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women’s tennis team made program history. Defeating the University of Minnesota Morris 8-1 they claimed their first ever Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) North Division title. It came after UWS’ historic first-ever victory over the University of Northwestern (St. Paul) earlier in April.

The Yellowjackets also secured the number one seed in next week’s UMAC Championships. They will face No. 2 Greenville Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri. For the UMAC tournament hub, click here.

Additionally, the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) men’s tennis team landed a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) playoff berth for the second straight season. Earning the three seed, their highest ranking since joining the MIAC, they’ll travel to number two Carleton College on Friday. Their match is set for 4 p.m.
