Ashland girls soccer sees state journey end in semifinals
Ashland girl's soccer celebrates their 2023 sectional championship win.
The No. 4 Ashland girls soccer team would see their season come to a close Thursday falling to No. 1 Edgewood 5-1 in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Division 3 state semifinals at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. The WIAA girls soccer state tournament format does not include quarterfinals.
Cassidy Lustig scored the Oredockers’ sole goal in the ninth minute of the first half off of a free kick to lead 5-1.
This marked Ashland’s third state trip since 2019, also going in 2021. They finish the 2023 season with a 19-3-2 overall record.
