Prep Volleyball: Cloquet’s Johnson tallies 1,000th set assist in win, Duluth Marshall tops Denfeld

In prep volleyball on Thursday both Cloquet and Duluth Marshall earned wins in straight sets.
At home Cloquet blanked Superior 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-21). On the third point of the first set senior setter Carly Johnson tallied her 1,000th set assists, and would finish with 15 on the night. Earlier this season the Lumberjacks celebrated Ava Carlson’s 1,000th point. Cloquet improves to 22-2 and next hosts Grand Rapids Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. Superior (15-9) closes out their regular season Tuesday hosting Grand Rapids at 7 p.m.
At Duluth Denfeld, Duluth Marshall would win the crosstown clash 3-0. Next the Hilltoppers (8-8) visit Hibbing Tuesday, while the Hunters next visit Princeton Monday.
