It’s the 48th running of Grandma’s Marathon. What started in 1977 with a group of local runners as a scenic road race from Two Harbors to Duluth has become the 10th-largest marathon in the United States.

The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon participants wear gold bib colors. The race began at 6:00 a.m. with an anticipated finish of 7 a.m. for men, and 7:10 a.m. for women.

Kellyn Taylor set the Grandma’s Marathon Women’s event record in 2018 with a time of 2:24:28. At that time, it was the seventh-fastest marathon in history for an American woman.
