What’s Brewing had an OMC Smokehouse flair. General Manager Evan Sieve mixed up a blueberry mojito with a twist.

“This is part of our summer menu, but we’re just going to make some tweaks to it today and have a little fun,” Sieve said. “That’s the fun of cocktails. You can kind of do whatever you want.”

He started with berries in the bottom of a tall glass. In the restaurant, OMC uses blueberries. But Sieve added a twist, using honeyberries from the garden instead. He also added fresh mint from the garden.

To the fresh ingredients, he added 1 oz. of Vikre Boreal Juniper Gin. Next was 1/2 oz. of white rum, 1 oz. of lime juice, and 1 oz. of simple syrup.

He muddled all of that together to express the oil and flavor from the mint, then added ice. To finish it off, Sieve topped it with club soda and 1/2 oz. of Creme de Mure, a blackberry liqueur.

“Great for sitting out here on the patio, refreshing yourself a little bit, getting those fruity, minty, herby flavors,” he said. “It’s all good stuff.”
