The Tomassoni Tour will ride across the Range for the first time this September, and they are looking for riders.

The tour goes Sept. 14-16 on the Mesabi Trail. The goal is to raise $100,000 that will go toward finding a cure for ALS and supporting patients and their families.

“We kind of took the model of the Blizzard Tour and said … if we can move snowmobiles in January in Duluth, Minnesota, I think we can do bikes in September,” Never Surrender President David Kohlquist said.

There is a full ride option to go 80-120 miles over two days or a half ride that goes 50-80 miles over two days. There’s also a virtual ride.

The ride is named after the late Minnesota state Sen. David Tomassoni.

“David Tomassoni was such a big supporter and obviously helped with ALS, secured $25 million in funding, really moved the needle,” Kohlquist said. “I’ve been helping for 28 years. For the first time ever, we’re starting to see some progress and making a difference in the disease.”
