Art in the Alley is celebrating 15 years as a small business in Duluth.

“Art in the Alley really did start in an alley,” Tami LaPole Edmunds said. “People ask that all the time: ‘Why is it Art in the Alley?’ Because it started in an alley 15 years ago.”

LaPole Edmunds makes and sells much of the art in the shop.

“We’re like an art fair every day,” she said.

She hand paints denim jackets, repurposes old men’s T-shirts, and creates her own jewelery.

“Duluthians support small business,” she said. “Anyone who owns a small business in Duluth recognizes how much our community values us.”

The store is in the Miller Hill Mall. Online, they’re offering 15% off in honor of its 15th anniversary. Shop and get more details on artinthealley.com.
