Tech Bytes: Twitter launches encrypted DMs

New mobile gadgets from Google. They say it’s Pixel Fold is the thinnest foldable on the market, and runs $1800. Also available, the $450 Pixel 7A mid-range phone, and a new Pixel tablet display costing about $500.

Twitter is launching encrypted DM’s, behind a pay wall. Only verified users, a verified organization or one of it’s affiliates can send an encrypted DM. And, there are several stipulations for being able to receive one of them. Encrypted DM’s are available, for free, on several other platforms.

Roku is offering a smart home security system that will send surveillance video to your TV. The $99 expandable system includes a keypad and hub, along with window, door and motion sensors. Customers can self-monitor their homes through the app, or pay for 24-7 professional monitoring.
