Tech Bytes: Netflix scraps cheapest ad-free plan

Netflix has scrapped is cheapest ad-free plan. New subscribers can no longer sign up for the basic $9.99 tier, which comes with no ads and allows you to stream on only one device at a time. But existing members with that plan will not be affected.

Whatsapp has launched a long-awaited new feature. A stand alone app for smart watches that run on Google wear OS. It will allow users to initiate new conversations and reply to messages with having their connected phone nearby. It’s available beginning today.

Finally, Microsoft has teamed up with Maybelline, to offer new “virtual makeup filters”. A dozen of them are available for Microsoft “Teams” users. They allow makeup to be put on with just one click, and include various color options and blurring effects.
